Protect your capital.
Monitor your trading.
Decide with context.
Intelligent system for protection, monitoring and operational optimization for NinjaTrader 8.
Free · Simulation · No card
Controls SOURCE, ACCOUNT and FLEET limits with lockout, flattening and profit protection.
Brings together health, PnL, positions, latency, feed, volatility and critical states in real time.
Integrates news, uncertainty regime, market reading, technical levels and supervised AI modules.
Copying and OCO brackets are part of the execution engine, subordinate to global protection.
Three ways to trade, a single layer of protection
Most tools replicate what something else already decided. Here, an AI reads the context, reasons and issues its own verdict. And the Guardian still rules above it.
Fifteen different approaches —timing, debate, technical reading, day bias, candle mechanics—, and the system measures the quality of each one against its shadow history. The AI is not window dressing: it is evaluated, and you choose which one to trade with.
It analyzes thousands of its own trades, detects at which hours it wins and at which it loses, and proposes stop and target based on its winners. It validates with walk-forward, and it doesn't apply a single rule unless you enable the governance.
Much more than multi-account execution
TSD Trade Guard Pro acts as an operational governance layer: it observes, protects, reports, limits and coordinates the functions surrounding every trading decision.
The market is not the only risk
It's not always the strategy that fails. Often what fails is the ability to watch everything at once when pressure rises.
From pressure to visibility
The market remains uncertain. What changes is the ability to see risk, respond and stay within the plan.
A governance layer over all your trading
Multi-account execution is just one more capability. The core is the coordination of all the layers that protect and explain your trading.
A clear response under pressure and during incidents
The top controls separate critical actions, resets and diagnostic panels so you can respond without hunting for parameters during the session.
The system watches while the trader observes the market
Context before executing
The indicator gathers descriptive environment signals to understand when the market, the feed or the calendar raise risk.
Intelligence within limits
The AI can read, suggest, measure and optimize, but it stays within limits of size, freshness, stop, target, schedule and circuit breakers.
A feature of the system, not its identity
Execution works subordinate to protection. The execution layer coordinates source, replicas, size and protection; it always operates beneath the Guardian and the circuit breakers.
Multi-layer capital protection
Three control scopes work in coordination: the source account, each execution account and the entire fleet.
Usage and diagnostic examples
Practical examples to interpret the system without turning the manual into a trading recommendation.
What it offers and what it does not promise
Trust is born when the user understands exactly what the system does and where they remain responsible.
The goal is not to promise that nothing will go wrong. It's to help prevent the damage from growing when something does go wrong.
Pricing and sales policy
One month with the complete TSD Trade Guard Pro. No crippled features and no commitment. When it ends, you decide.
A full month of real market, with the whole system.
We're still setting the price. Those first on the list will get the launch price.
No fine print. For 30 days you have the complete indicator: multi-layer Guardian, HUD, circuit breakers, market context and supervised AI. There is no cut-down version or blocked features. When the period ends, the indicator stops loading until you activate a license.
Experimental product. The demo does not restrict the account type: it will work on whichever one you connect, whether simulation or live. We strongly recommend validating it first in simulation, over full sessions, before bringing it near real capital. The responsibility for where you use it is yours.
The AI and the news use your own key. The indicator connects to the AI provider you choose —several have a free tier— and to the FRED calendar, whose key is also free. We don't act as an intermediary or charge you for usage: your key is yours. How to get them →

The complete system
The whole system, explained. Architecture, protection, controls, market context, supervised AI and multi-account execution — with what it does and what it does not promise.
02 · POSITIONING
TSD Trade Guard Pro acts as an operational governance layer: it observes, protects, reports, limits and coordinates the functions surrounding every trading decision.
Limits, discipline, lockouts, drawdown and safety closes.
HUD, health, PnL, positions, protection, feed and latency.
Volatility, news, uncertainty, levels and technical reading.
Circuit breakers, reconciliation, reconnection and mismatch detection.
AI, shadow logging, quality, memory and optimization under rules.
Source, replicas, sizes, OCO and AUTO/MANUAL mode as just one more feature.
The indicator is not defined by copying trades. It is defined by governing the risk, the information and the execution of complex trading from a single visual layer.
03 · TRADER REALITY
It's not always the strategy that fails. Often what fails is the ability to watch everything at once when pressure rises.
One loss leads to another impulsive entry and the plan stops being in charge.
Different positions, limits and states compete for attention.
The fear of losing the account changes decisions that were once clear.
The market changes regime before you can react.
The real position can stop matching the expected one.
The more screens, the less capacity left to interpret.
The trader doesn't need more noise. They need a layer that brings together risk, alerts, tracking and control before pressure turns the plan into reaction.
04 · THE DOMINO EFFECT
Pressure builds up through signals the trader can't always watch in time.
News, volatility or uncertainty.
Attention stays on the entry.
More size or incomplete protection.
Real stops matching expected.
The plan gives way to emotional reaction.
The difference is detecting earlier, limiting earlier and regaining control before an operational incident becomes an emotional decision.
05 · THE TRANSFORMATION
The market remains uncertain. What changes is the ability to see risk, respond and stay within the plan.
Status of accounts, limits, positions and protection.
Critical alerts and controls during the session.
Rules for size, schedule, cooldown and lockouts.
Knowing what the system protects and why it acts.
Feeling protected doesn't mean there will be no losses. It means there are limits, alerts, tracking and defined responses before the pressure arrives.
06 · REAL EXPECTATIONS
Trust is born when the user understands exactly what the system does and where they remain responsible.
The goal is not to promise that nothing will go wrong. It's to help prevent the damage from growing when something does go wrong.
07 · ARCHITECTURE
Multi-account execution is just one more capability. The core is the coordination of all the layers that protect and explain your trading.
Limits, discipline, lockouts, drawdown and safety closes.
HUD, health, PnL, positions, protection, feed and latency.
Volatility, news, uncertainty, levels and technical reading.
Circuit breakers, reconciliation, reconnection and mismatch detection.
AI, shadow logging, quality, memory and optimization under rules.
Source, replicas, sizes, OCO and AUTO/MANUAL mode.
The indicator is not defined by copying trades. It is defined by governing the risk, the information and the execution of complex trading from a single visual layer.
08 · REBUILT INTERFACE
High resolution · Rounded corners · Clean reading
Healthy or ready.
Attention or supervision.
Lockout or critical action.
Inactive or unavailable.
Status, risk and consistency visible in a sharp, rounded and professional interface.
09 · OPERATIONAL CONTROL
The top controls separate critical actions, resets and diagnostic panels so you can respond without hunting for parameters during the session.
| Control | Function | Recommended use |
|---|---|---|
| NO COPIA | Enables or pauses new replicas | Preventive pause without removing the indicator. |
| APLANAR | Closes all replicas | Coordinated exit from the execution accounts. |
| PÁNICO | Closes everything and pauses | Serious incident, mismatch or loss of control. |
| MODO | Toggles AUTO / MANUAL | Select the flow before opening positions. |
| RESET DÍA / SEM | Resets controlled lockouts | Only after reviewing the reason. |
| HUD / PANELES | Shows specialized diagnostics | Open only the panel you need. |
Incident sequence
A real mismatch sustained during the grace period triggers automatic PÁNICO (panic), closes the positions and keeps copying paused to prevent a new divergence.
10 · HUD AND TRACKING
The HUD organizes information to confirm health, protection, synchrony and exposure.
| Block | What it shows | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| CONFIG | Source, mode, schedule, AI and health | Avoids trading the wrong account or session. |
| GUARDIÁN | Limits, discipline and robustness | Explains which barriers are active. |
| FUENTE | PnL, feed, clock and volatility | Detects unreliable data. |
| ALERTAS | News, uncertainty and protection | Reduces the risk of ignoring context. |
| RÉPLICAS | PnL, real/expected, PROT and ms | Confirms consistency per account. |
| FLOTA | Aggregate PnL and global status | Shows the total exposure. |
The HUD turns complex technical states into a fast, actionable operational reading.
11 · PROTECTION AND ALERTS
Profit, protected and loss on the source account.
Individual protection for each execution account.
Aggregate exposure and limits of the whole set.
12 · MARKET INTELLIGENCE
The indicator gathers descriptive environment signals to understand when the market, the feed or the calendar raise risk.
Range in ticks per window and configurable traffic light.
Manual windows and calendar with margins.
Classifies LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH or EXTREME.
ADR, intraday, ORB, gaps, pivots and context.
Risk-oriented descriptive synthesis.
Distances to VWAP, PP, R/S and highs/lows.
| Condition | Inform | Pause | Flatten / tighten |
|---|---|---|---|
| News | Yes | Optional | Optional flatten |
| Red volatility | Yes | Per rule | Optional auto-panic |
| HIGH uncertainty | Yes | Optional | Size/quota reduction |
| EXTREME uncertainty | Yes | Optional | Everything to zero if enabled |
These modules provide context and protection. They do not replace the trader's validation or guarantee trading results.
13 · ANALYSIS AND CONTEXT
It doesn't try to guess. It shows conditions that can modify risk and help interpret the environment.
Real range and configurable traffic light.
Windows and calendar.
LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH or EXTREME.
ADR, ORB, gaps, pivots and VWAP.
Risk-oriented synthesis.
Shadow, metrics and prompts.
| Condition | Informative response | Protective response |
|---|---|---|
| Upcoming news | Warning and countdown | Configurable pause or flatten |
| Red volatility | Traffic light and sustained time | Configurable auto-panic |
| HIGH uncertainty | Visible classification | Size and quota reduction |
| EXTREME uncertainty | Critical alert | Everything to zero if enabled |
Context informs and can tighten protection, but it doesn't override the hard barriers or the trader's responsibility.
14 · SUPERVISED AI
The AI can read, suggest, measure and optimize, but it stays within limits of size, freshness, stop, target, schedule and circuit breakers.
Context by file or direct query.
It gives its opinion on the panel without executing.
Logs what it would do without sending.
Only with explicit arming and live fire.
14b · AI TRADER
Multi-account execution can be fed by three different sources. The Guardian rules above all three.
The indicator copies your strategy's signals and mirrors the source account's bracket across all replicas. The strategy decides; the system executes and protects.
You trade by hand on the source account from the Chart Trader. The replicas are protected with an ATM template. Your judgment is in charge, the system watches.
The AI reads the context —volatility, news, uncertainty, technical levels—, reasons and issues its own verdict. It doesn't repeat a signal: it builds it.
The two phases of the AI Trader
Prompts with a measured quality profile
| Approach | Versions | What it prioritizes |
|---|---|---|
| Base and progression | v10 · v11 · v12 · v13 | General reading of the context, from simple to integrated. |
| Bias and timing | v14 · v15 · v16 · v17 | Entry timing, internal debate and session bias. |
| Technical reading | v18 | Levels, structure and technical context of price. |
| Aggressive | v19 · v20 | High conviction, high risk tolerance. |
| Candle mechanics | v21 · v22 · v23 · v24 | Candle behavior and its formation mechanics. |
The system measures the quality of each prompt version against its own shadow history: it logs what it would have done without executing, and compares. You can choose which prompt to trade with, knowing how it has behaved.
No matter the mode. The AI stays within limits of size, decision freshness, stop, target, schedule and circuit breakers. If the Guardian blocks, the AI doesn't trade. Execution always works subordinate to protection.
15 · MULTI-ACCOUNT EXECUTION
Execution works subordinate to protection. The execution layer coordinates source, replicas, size and protection; it always operates beneath the Guardian and the circuit breakers.
Optional accounts with independent selection.
Global or per-slot factor with size reduction.
Mirrored protection and close reconciliation.
Automatic execution or ATM from the Chart Trader.
Measurement and traffic light per execution account.
Real vs expected position with confirmed full close.
| Field | Example | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| pos | 0 | Real position detected in the account. |
| esp | 0=0 | Expected position compared to the real one. |
| PROT | OK / ATM / NO | Protection status of the position. |
| ms | 0 ms | Latency measured for the replica. |
The internal detector stays always active. If the difference exceeds the tolerance and persists during the grace period, it triggers PÁNICO (panic) to close and avoid divergent exposure.
16 · THE GUARDIAN
Three control scopes work in coordination: the source account, each execution account and the entire fleet.
| Scope | Profit | Protected | Loss |
|---|---|---|---|
| FUENTE | $600 | $380 | $500 |
| CUENTA | $600 | $380 | $500 |
| FLOTA | $3.600 | $2.400 | $6.000 |
The three core cap families are enabled by default. To disable a cap you use its checkbox; using zero as a substitute is not recommended.
It's not an additional target. It's a barrier that seeks to preserve part of the profit reached when the PnL falls back from the session high.
17 · SCENARIOS
Practical examples to interpret the system without turning the manual into a trading recommendation.
Health OK, within schedule, LOW/MEDIUM uncertainty and no news. The Guardian allows new entries if all limits are still available.
Red volatility or upcoming news. Depending on configuration, it informs, pauses, flattens or triggers auto-panic after confirmation.
A replica doesn't match the expected position. The detector confirms the mismatch, triggers PÁNICO (panic), closes and keeps trading paused.
Quick diagnosis
| Signal | Action |
|---|---|
| NO COPIA | Check button, schedule, news, limits, discipline, uncertainty and connection. |
| PROT:NO | Check bracket, ATM, synthetic stop/target and protective order. |
| esp != pos | Don't open new entries. Wait for reconciliation or use PÁNICO (panic). |
| Lag / clock | Sync the PC/VM time, feed and ET zone. |
| AI waiting | Check the AI master switch, phase, freshness, target/stop, schedule, Guardian and DRY-RUN. |
| Account locked | Read the reason before using RESET. A reset doesn't fix the root cause. |
18 · CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION
Evolution starts from real operational problems, tests, diagnosis and the needs of traders with complex risk.
Each update aims for the trader to see better, understand sooner and have more control when pressure rises.

Available now
Intelligent system for protection, monitoring and operational optimization. A governance layer over all your trading: multi-layer Guardian (SOURCE, ACCOUNT and FLEET), real-time HUD, circuit breakers, market context and supervised AI.

We're coding two new tools. They don't have a public name yet. If you want to be among the first to try them, join the list.
Technical support
How to import the indicator in NinjaTrader 8, what to do when something doesn't respond, and how to interpret what the system is telling you.
Installation
The indicator is distributed as a .zip file. Don't unzip it: NinjaTrader imports it as is.
Before importing, close any open chart windows. It avoids conflicts with previous versions of the indicator.
In the NinjaTrader Control Center: Tools → Import → NinjaScript Add-On…
Find the file we sent you by email. Don't unzip it. Select it and click Open.
NinjaTrader will compile the indicator. If an overwrite warning appears, accept it: it's updating a previous version.
Close the platform completely and open it again. Without this step, the indicator may not appear in the list.
Open a chart, right-click → Indicators… → search for TSDCopyGuard → add it and configure your accounts and limits.
Validate the full behavior on simulation accounts, over entire sessions, before considering bringing it near real capital. The demo does not restrict the account type.
API keys
TSD Trade Guard Pro does not act as an intermediary or resell artificial intelligence. You choose the provider, you enter the key and you control the spending. We don't see your keys or charge you for usage.
You can use all the system's intelligence without paying a cent. Groq, Gemini, Cerebras and OpenRouter have a free tier, and the FRED key for the news calendar is also free.
You choose one as the main provider in the AI Provider parameter, group 28) AI · Agent.
In the indicator's parameters, inside the chart. You paste them once and they stay saved.
If you don't enter any key, the Guardian, the HUD, the circuit breakers, APLANAR (flatten) and PÁNICO (panic) keep working the same. Capital protection does not depend on the AI or the news. What gets disabled is the context and the intelligence, and the system tells you clearly on the panel.
Troubleshooting
Before writing to us, check whether your case is here. These are the six signals that generate the most queries.
NO COPIA button (it may be pressed), the configured schedule, whether a news window is active, whether any Guardian limit has been reached, the discipline and cooldown rules, the uncertainty level, and the connection status of the accounts. The HUD tells you which of them is blocking.PROT:NO — close or protect it manually.PÁNICO to close everything and regain control. If the mismatch persists during the grace period, the auto-panic triggers on its own.DRY-RUN mode is active (it logs but doesn't send).RESET. A reset doesn't fix the root cause: if the maximum daily loss was reached, resetting the lock only gives you back permission to lose again.Frequently asked questions

New developments
Two products under construction, and the log of everything that has been added to TSD Trade Guard Pro.
What's coming
We're coding two new tools for NinjaTrader 8. They don't have a public name yet and we won't announce them until they're ready to be truly tested.
We'll write to you when there's something real to show. Not before.
Version log
The product isn't finished: it's alive. Each version comes from a real operational problem, a test or a diagnosis. Whoever holds a license receives every improvement, at no extra cost.
The detector stays always active. If the difference between the real and expected position exceeds the tolerance and persists during the grace period, it triggers PÁNICO (panic), closes the positions and keeps copying paused to prevent a new divergence.
How we evolve. Observe, measure, improve, update. New versions don't destroy previous ones, new features are optional and with safe defaults, circuit breakers come before automation, and everything is validated in simulation first.
The following statement is provided pursuant to Regulation 1.55(c) of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission ("CFTC"). This brief statement does not disclose all of the risks and other significant aspects of trading in futures, forex and options. In light of the risks, you should undertake such transactions only if you understand the nature of the contracts (and contractual relationships) into which you are entering and the extent of your exposure to risk. Trading in futures, forex and options is not suitable for many members of the public. You should carefully consider whether trading is appropriate for you in light of your experience, objectives, financial resources and other relevant circumstances.
The risk of loss in trading commodity futures and forex contracts can be substantial. You should therefore carefully consider whether such trading is suitable for you in light of your circumstances and financial resources. You should be aware of the following points:
THIS BRIEF STATEMENT CANNOT, OF COURSE, DISCLOSE ALL THE RISKS AND OTHER ASPECTS OF THE COMMODITY AND FOREIGN EXCHANGE MARKETS.
DUE TO THE VOLATILE NATURE OF THE COMMODITIES MARKETS, THE PURCHASE AND GRANTING OF OPTIONS ON COMMODITIES INVOLVES A HIGH DEGREE OF RISK. COMMODITY TRANSACTIONS ARE NOT SUITABLE FOR MANY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC. SUCH TRANSACTIONS SHOULD BE ENTERED INTO ONLY BY PERSONS WHO HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS DISCLOSURE STATEMENT AND WHO UNDERSTAND THE NATURE AND EXTENT OF THEIR RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS AND OF THE RISKS INVOLVED IN THE OPTION TRANSACTIONS COVERED BY THIS DISCLOSURE STATEMENT.
BOTH THE BUYER AND THE GRANTOR SHOULD KNOW THAT THE OPTION, IF EXERCISED, RESULTS IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FUTURES CONTRACT (AN "OPTION ON A FUTURES CONTRACT").
BOTH THE BUYER AND THE GRANTOR SHOULD KNOW WHETHER THE PARTICULAR OPTION IN WHICH THEY CONTEMPLATE TRADING IS SUBJECT TO A "STOCK-STYLE" OR "FUTURES-STYLE" MARGIN SYSTEM. UNDER A STOCK-STYLE MARGIN SYSTEM, THE BUYER MUST PAY THE FULL PURCHASE PRICE OF THE OPTION AT THE OUTSET OF THE TRANSACTION. THE BUYER HAS NO ADDITIONAL OBLIGATIONS ON THE OPTION POSITION. UNDER A FUTURES-STYLE MARGIN SYSTEM, THE BUYER DEPOSITS INITIAL MARGIN AND MAY BE REQUIRED TO DEPOSIT ADDITIONAL MARGIN IF THE MARKET MOVES AGAINST THE OPTION POSITION. HOWEVER, THE BUYER'S TOTAL VARIATION MARGIN OBLIGATION OVER THE LIFE OF THE OPTION WILL NOT EXCEED THE ORIGINAL OPTION PREMIUM, ALTHOUGH SOME INDIVIDUAL PAYMENT OBLIGATIONS AND/OR RISK MARGIN REQUIREMENTS MAY AT TIMES EXCEED THE ORIGINAL OPTION PREMIUM.
A PERSON SHOULD NOT PURCHASE ANY COMMODITY OPTION UNLESS HE OR SHE IS ABLE TO SUSTAIN A TOTAL LOSS OF THE PREMIUM AND TRANSACTION COSTS OF PURCHASING THE OPTION. A PERSON SHOULD NOT GRANT ANY COMMODITY OPTION UNLESS HE OR SHE IS ABLE TO MEET ADDITIONAL MARGIN CALLS WHEN THE MARKET MOVES AGAINST HIS OR HER POSITION AND, IN SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES, SUSTAIN A VERY LARGE FINANCIAL LOSS.
A PERSON WHO PURCHASES AN OPTION SUBJECT TO STOCK-STYLE MARGIN SHOULD BE AWARE THAT, IN ORDER TO REALIZE ANY VALUE FROM THE OPTION, IT WILL BE NECESSARY EITHER TO OFFSET THE OPTION POSITION OR TO EXERCISE IT. OPTIONS SUBJECT TO FUTURES-STYLE MARGIN ARE MARKED TO MARKET, AND GAINS AND LOSSES ARE PAID AND COLLECTED DAILY. IF THE BUYER OF AN OPTION DOES NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO OFFSET OR EXERCISE AN OPTION, THE BUYER SHOULD REQUEST AN EXPLANATION FROM THE FCM OR THE IB. CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT IN VARIOUS CIRCUMSTANCES, SOME OF WHICH WILL BE DESCRIBED IN THIS DISCLOSURE STATEMENT, IT MAY BE DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO OFFSET AN EXISTING OPTION POSITION ON AN EXCHANGE.
THE GRANTOR OF AN OPTION SHOULD BE AWARE THAT, IN MOST CASES, A COMMODITY OPTION MAY BE EXERCISED AT ANY TIME FROM THE TIME IT IS GRANTED UNTIL IT EXPIRES. THE BUYER OF AN OPTION SHOULD BE AWARE THAT SOME OPTION CONTRACTS MAY PROVIDE ONLY A LIMITED PERIOD OF TIME FOR THE EXERCISE OF THE OPTION.
THE BUYER OF A PUT OR CALL SUBJECT TO STOCK-STYLE OR FUTURES-STYLE MARGIN IS SUBJECT TO THE RISK OF LOSING THE ENTIRE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE OPTION, THAT IS, THE PREMIUM CHARGED FOR THE OPTION PLUS ALL TRANSACTION COSTS.
THE COMMODITY FUTURES TRADING COMMISSION REQUIRES THAT ALL CUSTOMERS RECEIVE AND ACKNOWLEDGE RECEIPT OF A COPY OF THIS DISCLOSURE STATEMENT, BUT DOES NOT INTEND THIS STATEMENT AS A RECOMMENDATION OR ENDORSEMENT OF EXCHANGE-TRADED COMMODITY OPTIONS.
Some of the risks of options trading.
The specific market movements of the underlying future cannot be accurately predicted.
The grantor of a call option who does not have a long position in the underlying futures contract is subject to the risk of loss if the price of the underlying futures contract is higher than the strike price at the time of exercise or expiration of the option by an amount greater than the premium received for granting the call option.
The grantor of a call option who has a long position in the underlying futures contract is subject to the full risk of a decline in the price of the underlying position less the premium received for granting the call option. In return for the premium received for granting a call option, the option grantor gives up all potential gain resulting from an increase in the price of the underlying futures contract above the option strike price at the time of exercise or expiration of the option.
The grantor of a put option who does not have a short position in the underlying futures contract is subject to the risk of loss if the price of the underlying futures contract declines below the strike price at the time of exercise or expiration of the option by an amount greater than the premium received for granting the put option.
The grantor of a put option on a futures contract who has a short position in the underlying futures contract is subject to the full risk of an increase in the price of the underlying position less the premium received for granting the put option. In return for the premium received for granting a put option on a futures contract, the option grantor gives up all potential gain resulting from a decrease in the price of the underlying futures contract below the option strike price at the time of exercise or expiration of the option.
Description of commodity options. Before entering into any transaction involving a commodity option, a person should thoroughly understand the nature and type of option involved and the underlying futures contract. The futures commission merchant or introducing broker must provide, and the person contemplating an option transaction must obtain:
The mechanics of options trading. Before entering into any exchange-traded options transaction, a person should obtain a description of how commodity options are traded.
Option customers should clearly understand that there is no guarantee that option positions may be offset by a closing purchase or sale transaction on an exchange. In this circumstance, option grantors could be subject to the full risk of their positions until the option position expires, and the buyer of a profitable option might have to exercise the option in order to realize a gain.
For an option on a futures contract, a person should clearly understand the relationship between the exchange rules governing option transactions and the exchange rules governing the underlying futures contract. For example, an individual should understand what action, if any, the exchange will take in the options market if trading in the underlying futures market is restricted or futures prices have made a "limit move."
The individual should understand that the option may not be subject to daily price fluctuation limits, while the underlying futures may have such limits, and, as a result, normal price relationships between the options and the underlying future may not exist when the future is trading at its price limit. In addition, underlying futures positions resulting from the exercise of options may not be offset if the underlying future is at a price limit.
Margin requirements. A person should know and understand whether the option they are contemplating trading is subject to a stock-style or a futures-style margin system. Stock-style margin requires the buyer to pay the full option premium at the time of purchase. The buyer has no further financial obligations and the risk of loss is limited to the purchase price and transaction costs. Futures-style margin requires the buyer to pay only initial margin at the time of purchase. The option position is marked to market, and gains and losses are collected and paid daily. The buyer's risk of loss is limited to the initial option premium and transaction costs.
A person who grants options under a stock-style or futures-style margin system should understand that they may be required to pay additional margin in the event of adverse market movements.
Potential profit of an option position. An option customer should carefully calculate the price that the underlying futures contract would have to reach for the option position to be profitable. Under a stock-style margin system, this price would include the amount by which the underlying futures contract would have to rise above, or fall below, the strike price to cover the sum of the premium and all other costs incurred in entering into, exercising or closing out (offsetting) the commodity option position. Under a futures-style margin system, option positions would be marked to market, and gains and losses would be paid and collected daily, and an option position would become profitable once the variation margin collected exceeded the cost of entering the contract position.
In addition, an option customer should be aware of the risk that the prevailing futures price at the opening of the next trading day may be substantially different from the futures price that prevailed when the option was exercised.
Out-of-the-money options. A person contemplating purchasing a deep out-of-the-money option (that is, an option with a strike price significantly above, in the case of a call option, or significantly below, in the case of a put option, the current price of the underlying futures contract) should be aware that the chance of such an option becoming profitable is ordinarily remote.
On the other hand, a potential grantor of a deep out-of-the-money option should be aware that such options normally provide small premiums while exposing the grantor to all of the potential losses described in section (1) of this disclosure statement.
The purpose of this investor notice is to remind investors that, like any other speculative investment, trading futures on virtual currencies, including Bitcoin, has certain benefits and various risks. While virtual currency futures must be traded on regulated futures exchanges, trading these products involves a high level of risk and may not be suitable for all investors.
It is therefore essential that investors who are considering trading virtual currency futures educate themselves about these products, understand their risks and exercise due diligence before making investment decisions. Investor protection begins with investor education.
The above are only some of the risks associated with trading futures on virtual currencies, including Bitcoin. Investors should consult the risk disclosures provided by their FCM and educate themselves fully about all the associated risks before trading.
Under the oversight of the CFTC, each futures market that lists a virtual currency futures contract is responsible for regulating its futures market. NFA performs market regulation services on behalf of certain futures exchanges and swap execution facilities. However, please note that the fact that virtual currency futures, including Bitcoin, must be traded on regulated futures exchanges does not mean that the underlying virtual currency markets are regulated in any way, and, as discussed above, what happens in a virtual currency's underlying market will affect the price of a virtual currency's futures contract.
Investors who have questions or concerns about trading futures on virtual currencies, including Bitcoin, should contact the NFA Information Center (312-781-1410 or 800-621-3570 or information@nfa.futures.org).

■ Trading futures and forex carries substantial risk and is not for every investor. An investor could potentially lose all, or more than, the initial investment. Risk capital is money that can be lost without jeopardizing one's financial security or lifestyle. Only risk capital should be used for trading, and only those with sufficient risk capital should consider trading. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future results.
■ Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown; in fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are many other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect trading results.
